Ephesians 9:11-12
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
As we gather here today, let us delve into understanding
this crucial aspect of our Christian walk. The spiritual warfare against devils
and curses is not for the faint-hearted; it requires strength, faith, and a
steadfast spirit to stand tall against the tactics of the enemy.
The world is not just physical; it is also spiritual. Both
realms are intertwined, and often the battles we face physically are
manifestations of the spiritual warfare waged in the heavenly realms. Devils
and curses are not mere myths or figments of the imagination; they are actual
forces of darkness that seek to disrupt our lives and distort our faith.
However, beloved, let us not be disheartened. Jesus Christ
has won the victory on the cross, and as His followers, we are called to
enforce this victory on earth. The devil may roar like a lion, but he is a
defeated foe. He may throw curses our way, but in Jesus, we are blessed beyond
measure. We do not fight for victory; we fight from victory.
Prayer is our greatest weapon in this spiritual warfare. We
cannot overemphasise the power of prayer. Prayer is not a monologue, but a
dialogue with God. It is through prayer that we align ourselves with God's will
and power, command His angels concerning us, and declare His word into our
situations.
When we pray, we are not just speaking into the air; we are
communicating with the God of all creation. He listens, He responds, and He
moves on our behalf. But more than that, prayer changes us. It moulds our
character, fortifies our faith, and aligns our will with God's.
Beloved in Christ, let us put on the full armour of God and arm ourselves with truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the
word of God. And above all, let us pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. Remember, the fervent prayer of the righteous
avails much.
In our fight against devils and curses, let the word of God
be our sword, faith our shield, and prayer our battle cry. Let us immerse
ourselves in God's word, live by faith, and pray without ceasing.
Beloved, the battle is the Lord's, and with Him on our side,
we are more than conquerors. Let us therefore stand firm, resist the devil, and
he will flee from us. We are children of God, and no force of darkness can
stand against us.
As we conclude this devotion, let us remember that we are
not alone in this warfare. God is with us, His Spirit lives in us, and His
angels are fighting for us. He has given us all we need to stand firm. So, let
us rise, let us pray, and let us fight the good fight of faith.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are a God of righteousness, love, and power. We acknowledge Your glory and Your sovereignty over all creation. We understand that the devil and his curses are real, but You, O Lord, are infinitely greater. We come before You today, humbly seeking Your protection and Your deliverance.
Father, we confess our sins before You. We have come short of Your glory and have allowed ourselves to be swayed by the deceit of the devil. Forgive us, Lord, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We confess and repent of all our sins and we turn to You with all our hearts.
In the authority of Your precious name, we stand against all forces of darkness that seek to harm us. We declare no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment shall be condemned. We rebuke all spirits of confusion, fear, torment, and defeat. We cancel every curse spoken over our lives and we declare them void in the name of Jesus.
We command every demonic power that has been assigned against us to be bound and cast out in the mighty name of Jesus. There is no power in hell or on earth that can stand against the authority of Jesus Christ our Lord. Your word says in Luke 10:19, "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you," and we stand on that promise today.
We claim Your word in 1 John 4:4, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." We believe and declare that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
Cover us with Your divine protection, Lord. Let Your holy angels encamp around us and guard us in all our ways. Let Your fire surround us and Your glory be our shield. We declare we hide in Christ, safe from all the attacks of the enemy.
Fill us anew with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Let the power of
Your Spirit strengthen us, guide us, and lead us in the way of truth and
righteousness. Let the fruits of Your Spirit be clear in our lives and let Your
light shine through us.
Father, we thank You for Your divine protection and guidance. We thank You for the victory that is ours through Christ Jesus. We stand firm in faith, knowing that You already won the battle.
We commit our lives into Your hands, O Lord. Guide us and lead us according to Your perfect will. May we glorify Your name in our lives and in everything we do. In Jesus' mighty and powerful name we pray, Amen.
