Exodus 3:7
And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people..and have heard their cry..for I know their sorrows
Often, we walk through life feeling as though we are invisible, as though our struggles, our fears, and even our hopes are unseen and unheard. It is in these moments, when you feel most alone, that it's important to turn your eyes towards the heavens and remember that we are never invisible to our loving Father.
Let us delve into the scriptures. We find in Psalm 139:14,
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are
wonderful, I know that full well." Our God, our Creator, our Sustainer, is
fully aware of you. He who formed the stars in the sky and the fish in the sea,
He who paints the sunset with glorious colours every day, He knows you and He
sees you.
When Hagar found herself cast out into the wilderness,
afraid and alone, God met her there. She names God "El Roi" — the God
who sees. He saw her in her desperation and her isolation, and He comforted
her. He promised her a future for her offspring, a future that she could not
see, but He could. El Roi, our God, who sees, sees you.
Remember the story of Zacchaeus we find in Luke 19?
Zacchaeus, a tax collector, was not well-liked. He was a small man, often
overlooked, feeling unseen in a crowd. But when Jesus arrived, He looked up
into the tree where Zacchaeus was hiding and said, “Zacchaeus, come down
immediately. I must stay at your house today.” Unseen by the world, perhaps,
but never by Jesus.
Yes, you may feel invisible to the world around you. You may
feel like your cries echo in empty chambers, like your prayers bounce off the
ceiling, like your heartache is a silent movie played to empty seats. But dear
ones, I want to encourage you today — you are not invisible to God. He sees you;
He hears you, and He responds to you.
When you are in the wilderness, when you are up in that
tree, when you're lost in the crowd, remember El Roi. He sees not only who you
are but also who you can be; He sees not only your past but also your future.
He sees your potential, your dreams, your strengths, and yes, your weaknesses,
too.
I invite you to take heart. Our God, El Roi, is with you. He
sees you, and not only that, He knows you intimately. You are known; you are seen;
you are loved. No tear escapes His notice, no laugh echoes unheard. He cradles
your hopes and dreams, fears, and anxieties. You are visible to Him.
Let us rest in His love, dear brothers and sisters. When you
feel invisible, remember that an all-seeing God sees you. Walk in this truth
and find comfort in His divine presence. May the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you
all.
