Acts 4:10
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Today, I will share a message of hope, strength, and
victory. A message that is deeply rooted in the heart of our faith, a message
that is as old as the church itself, yet as fresh as the morning dew. It is a
message about the power in the name of Jesus.
The name 'Jesus' is not just any name. It, my dear brethren,
is a name that encapsulates the divine, a nomenclature that is steeped in the
sacred, and one that bears the echoes of the love that the Almighty showers
upon us. In the name of Jesus, there is power, a power that transcends our understanding, a power that transcends the confines of this corporeal
plane.
The book of Philippians 2:9-10 declares: “Therefore God
exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every
name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth
and under the earth.” This passage underscores the exceptional status of
Jesus, confirming that His Name is above all names. The Name commands respect,
mandates deference, and justifies reverence in all corners of creation.
When we say the name 'Jesus', we are invoking a force of
absolute benevolence, a font of unconditional love, and a beacon of everlasting
light. It is a testament to the love the Father has for the Son, and in
parallel, it is a testament to the love the Son has for His children.
Brothers and sisters, the power in the name of Jesus is not
something abstract and distant, but a tangible force active in our lives. It is
a power that can break chains, heal bodies, mend hearts, and set captives free.
It is a power that provides peace amid the storm, strength in times of
weakness, joy in times of sorrow, and healing when we are hurt.
I implore us all to understand this power. We do not merely
speak the name of Jesus, we proclaim it. We pronounce it with faith, with the
absolute conviction that it can move mountains, that it can tame the wildest
tempests of our lives. We are not just uttering syllables. We are invoking the
power of the One who conquered death, hell, and the grave. We are calling upon
the One who has all authority in heaven and on earth. We are reaching out to
the One who can calm the storm, walk on water, and feed the multitude with just
a few loaves and fishes.
Our spiritual journey as Christians includes the
deepening of our relationship with Jesus, our comprehension of His nature, teachings, and love. Let us strive to grow in understanding of this
power, imbibe its essence, and incorporate it into every fabric of our
lives.
Never underestimate the influence of Jesus' Name. The power
that rose Jesus from the dead, that healed the blind, that comforted the
broken, is the same power that is accessible to us today. The driving force
behind miracles, transformations, and revivals is all rooted in the invocation
of His sacred Name.
As shepherds of His flock, as members of His divine family,
let us call upon His Name with unshakeable faith. Let us baptise our tongues
with His divine Name and spread the love, the peace, and the grace that it
radiates to all corners of our lives.
May the name of Jesus be our spiritual anthem, our shield
against darkness, our beacon in life's tumultuous seas. May the power of His
name fortify our faith, quicken our spirits, and rekindle our love for our
great God. In the power of His mighty name, let us stand firm!
Remember, there is no other name under heaven given to
mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name that can
heal, deliver, and save. There is no other name that can bring peace, joy, and
love. There is no other name that can give hope, strength, and courage. There
is no other name that can bring life, light, and truth. There is no other name
that can bring grace, mercy, and forgiveness. There is no other name that can
bring redemption, restoration, and resurrection. There is no other name like
the name of Jesus.
